I was dressed up and singing. After my song they asked if I could do a double turn (mind you my resume is full of dance shows). I said yes. Then they looked at me and waited. I was like, "Now?" They said yes. Mind you, I was wearing zip-up leather boots. People are crazy! There's a reason you have a dance call back, it's to see people dance. I did my double turn for them, boots and all (nailed it), and THEN got asked to come back and dance. At the dance call, they typed me out within 15mins. Really? Really? Next time, just say thank you.Life of Wesleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13487307030881982760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3495622859323058834.post-40579333758673131492010-02-05T17:04:09.776-05:002010-02-05T17:04:09.776-05:00COULD YOU BE TALLER?!?!?!?! I've had an auditioner look at me like I was a mad misogynist after doing a monologue where a guy is upset his wife is showing her privates in a movie.....in a close-up....as a SOVIET TRAIN STATION. Ummmm....LADY! It's a comedy. And *I* am NOT this guy....don't be afraid of ME. But she was from California and looked like she hadn't seen a cloudy sky or brick in 35 years....very PC and granola.
You're advice is golden as usual!
I think the key is to audition as often as you can for as many people as you can and after you leave the room forget it and move on to the next thing. Otherwise you will TORTURE yourself over nothing in your control. You're right! HAVE FUN at being the best "you" you can be.
It's ALL a journey not a destination...football players must LOVE to PLAY not just win and WE must love to learn and expand and rehearse not just meet after final curtain for a cocktail!
You rock SUSAN!!!!!Keith Patrick Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16719617258838286358noreply@blogger.com
